SummaryOn November 24th, 2013, the winners of the 6th National Entertainment Journalism Awards were announced at the Crystal Ballroom at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel, downtown Los Angeles. Among the nominees for the Personality Profile of the year for a magazine or newspaper were: Kim Masters, The Hollywood Reporter, "A Day With Norman Lear at 90", Matthew garrahan, Financial Times, "The player: Will.i.am", and National Journalism Award winner Alex Pappademas, Playboy Magazine, "Ghost in the Machine" about the legendary rapper and songwriter The D.O.C.
Rising star writer/director Scott Cooper, the creative force behind "Crazy Heart" and the upcoming "Out of the Furnace" presented the Visionary Award to Forest Whitaker who was being honored for his humanitarian work.
L.A. Film Festival's David Ansen presented Los Angeles Times and NPR film critic Kenneth Turan with the Luminary Award for Career Achievement.
